So Nice to Meet You

I’m Amanda – designer, midwest dweller, and enneagram type seven using her words since 1991.

I’m so glad you stopped by – there’s so much to tell you, and so much I want to know about your journey. Though I’ve never been much for formalities, it seems like introductions are in order.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I’m started this journal at the dawn of my thirties, dwelling in the midwestern mecca that is Columbus, Ohio with my husband, JR, and our two dogs. Together we do the 9-to-5 as creatives and then spend all the other hours either projecting around the house or spending time with our big extended families. We’re homebodies, day-trippers, long-walkers, deep-thinkers and belly-laughers just aiming to love our life, our home, our work, and our neighbors.

A LITTLE ABOUT sunny side up

Secretly, I thought my life would look a little different at this point than what it actually does look like. How so? I thought I’d be a mom by now. I openly share about my journey through infertility and the tension between feeling fulfilled by the present but also holding onto hope for the future. In this no-man’s land, I took a look around at my life and all the things that it’s made of — my people and my work and my home — and I thought... DAMN. This is pretty good!!

Thus Sunny Side Up was dreamed into being: a creative journal for everyday inspiration and joy, wherever you are.

I think I might be a serial blogger/writer/over-sharer, constantly opening the doors to my little corner of the internet, spending a few hours inside, and unintentionally wandering off to another special project. Other than acquiring a strangely high number of website addresses to my name, this casual relationship with writing has been generally innocuous. That was until I came to the realization that writing truly is the only way I can effectively keep my insides in shape… a concept more commonly known as Self Care.

So, the furniture has been rearranged (again) and you’re invited to grab a mug out of the cupboard and bask awhile with Sunny Side Up.
